THEIR ORIGNAL NAME: THE DIXIE CONSTITUTIONAL SCHOLARS
It was more than a love of their music that was behind the Dixie Chicks' victory lap at the Grammy Awards Sunday.

The Texans won the three biggest awards -- song, record and album of the year -- for a disc in which they fought back against a country-music establishment that turned its back on them... They won everything they were nominated for.

"I think people are using their freedom of speech here tonight with all of these awards. We get the message," singer Natalie Maines said after winning the fifth Grammy, album of the year for "Taking the Long Way Home."
Fox News (boooo!) digg this
A little background: In 2003, the Dixie Chicks' freedom of speech was crushed because some people disagreed with what they said about President Bush, Iraq, American flags without spit on them, etc. Now, if you look at the First Amendment to the United States Constitution, it clearly states (emphasis mine):

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances; oh yeah, and nobody's allowed to disagree with some cute little dumpling's opinions on world events, at least not publicly, and they definitely can't stop buying her records."

So if you're not listening to the Dixie Chicks right now, ask yourself this: Why do you hate the Constitution?
