GOOGLE NEWS SEZ:
Recently I submitted the Daily Gut to Google News via their Recommend My Source page, in the hopes that this humble blog could be among the sites that pop up on that wonderful news aggregator when the user types in, just as an example, "anna nicole vagina". I added the following explanatory note:
The Daily Gut is a group news blog with a "sassy" attitude, affiliated with the hot new late-night Fox News show Red Eye. I saw that one of your other publishers, NewsHounds.us, had done a few reviews of Red Eye, and I thought TDG would be a perfect addition to the Google News family. Fingers crossed (and toes)!
After days of biting my nails and walking the floor, I finally heard back from them! Could this be it? Hands shaking with anticipation and delirium tremens, I opened the e-mail...
Hi Jim,
Thank you for your note. We've reviewed http://dailygut.com and are unable to include it in Google News. We currently only include articles from sources that could be considered organizations, generally characterized by multiple writers and editors, availability of organizational information, and accessible contact information. When we reviewed your site we weren't able to find this evidence of an organization.
We appreciate your willingness to provide your articles to us, and we'll log your site for future consideration.
Regards, The Google Team
I'm pretty sure we have 2 out of 3, don't we? And "Availablility of organizational information" seems so vague as to be meaningless. Could it mean, like, a P.O. box or something? An organizational flowchart? A personal check from George Soros? I'm no good at business-type stuff.
Oh well. That's okay, it's... it's not a problem... No, I'm alright, I just got something in my eye... [Cue Bill Bixby walking-away music]
