When the VT murderer was briefly institutionalized 16 months ago, was he indeed an imminent threat even though they said he wasn't? Taranto says it's not out of the question. I'd say he's right.

Chastity Frye, an escort who that autistic prick hired last month, has come forward. (A hooker named Chastity... that's right up there with "Tiny" Lister.) All she did was dance for the zit-faced creep, though, so it's good to know he died a virgin.

Ace of Spades doesn't think the VT students are to blame for what happened either, probably because he's a big commie pansy. Unlike Steyn, who links to a TimesOnline column by Sarah Baxter about how the shooting "revealed not only the poisons lurking in popular culture but the crisis of young males in a feminised society." The column is very long and very boring, and I gave up before she got around to trying to prove that point.

The NYT has a Flash reconstruction of what happened. They're too busy providing the actual layout of the buildings, and a clear timeline of the murderer's movements through them, to give any much-needed perspective on how this atrocity is just another sign of the wussification of American males. (But of course the gutless weenies at the NYT wouldn't want you thinking about that, would they?)

On a related note, I have yet to find a verified report about him lining up the students before he shot them, which was one of the stories that came out in the initial hysteria. And which, according to some of these CPU Steven Seagals (scroll all the way down to read my conversation with this gentleman), is evidence that the students were just sheep waiting to be slaughtered because that's what they'd been taught by our passive society, etc. Repeat: As far as we know, there was no line-up. He just stood in the doorway of each classroom and shot at anything with a face. If only he'd started with his own.
