So this is normally the time for the media's "winners and losers" lists, but this year, who needs it. We know the winners are the folks on Flight 253. The losers? The rest of us.
See, those passengers survived because of a crappy explosive and their own bravery. They were not saved by our Homeland Security, or our President's "cool" approach to fighting terror.
And that scares the crap out of me. And it should scare the crap out of you.
And it all goes back to the Climate Change conference.
Can you believe in a decade marked by the greatest challenge in our lifetimes - terror - that our President seems more focused on ice caps than icing terrorists? Sorry: America should have insisted on a worldwide conference on terror, well before one on climate change. Fact is, terrorists, - not temperature - go out of their way to kill people. And if your country doesn't renounce that kind of "man-caused" activity, then the U.S. should assert our dissatisfaction, in drones (I call that "terror offsets.")
I also think everyone should pretend the attack on Flight 253 succeeded. After all, an attempt at terror is still terror by definition - regardless of the terrorist's competence. Sadly, it's our government who disdains the word "terror" more so than they do actual terrorists. With this Administration, every act of terror is just an "isolated extremist," untethered to belief - and that prevents Obama from "connecting the dots," even when those dots are located on exploding underpants.
And if you disagree with me, then you're probably a racist homophobe who hates the planet.
