The Activity Pit has a special surprise in The Interrogation Room, none other than: Kevin Godlington.
Kevin has been a frequent guest on Red Eye since the... since before Red Eye was Red Eye. While we have enjoyed a lot of laughs from Kevin over the years, Greg`s introduction for him is one layer of an onion created from a life of service to his country and to others who are in need.
Kevin`s latest charitable endeavor is the Namibia 24 Hour Ultra Marathon which goes to help the Combat Stress and American Combat Veterans of War organizations in the UK and US respectively.
On to the interview.
TAS: Hi Kevin, how are you and thank you for taking the time for this interview.
KG: No problem. Send me a check for 10 grand.
TAS: You go back with Greg, well before Red Eye was on the air, how did you meet up with him and how did you become a regular guest on Red Eye?
KG: I knew Greg through Maxim magazine; he was a pioneering editor there, we drank together and discussed linear universes, animal bestiality and quantum mechanics. Indeed the only reason Greg didn`t take a job at CERN working on the Hadron Collider was because Fox knew how delicious his written word was. Greg is actually very clever, much like myself a child prodigy.
TAS: You have been on the show since the start, what do you think makes Red Eye a successful show?
KG: Yeah, Greg started it out as 'wasteland' we tramped around London he and I taking over various random studios testing the pilot with randoms. At one point we did it in a pub, got drunk, smoked and ended up shouting loudly and offensively such that tables began to leave. The rock and roll of current affairs shows no less! The success is owing to Gregs commitment, he`s a very dedicated and talented guy with pretty high standards and strong leadership qualities, this means he gets his own way and is allowed to be creative and flexible. He pushes the envelope and can even touch his toes without a robe on. It`s his baby; he`s fulfilled a dream and every credit to him.
